NOTE: This procedure is only available to Instructors.
If a student device is not set up properly at the start of the class (configs are not copied to it, an incorrect version of Junos is loaded, etc.), the Switch Course resource will allow an Instructor to individually setup a device.
NOTE: Running this command will reset the device so any work the student has done will be lost!
Follow this procedure to setup an individual device.
Use the appropriate "Course" resource (i.e. JAUT_14A_COURSE) command tool to slide out the Command window. Navigate to the Setup Device command and click the ">" arrow to enter the device name.
Enter a particular device name exactly as it's shown on the topology page (case sensitive!) and click "Run".
A message will appear on the top of the screen and below the Command indicating it is Running.
You can click the "Activity" feed at the top of the page to see the progress or even login through the console menu to watch the output if you prefer. When complete, a message will appear on the top of the page and the Command will indicated it has completed. Click the document icon to view the output if necessary.
If for some reason the Setup Individual device command doesn't work due to error message like following
"Setup Individual Device ended with status Failed with error: The system cannot run command SetupIndividualDevice on same resource ent1.srxA-1.sv, Reservation ID: a228b2ef-aaa6-4cfb-bba0-a32065394227.
Another command may already be in progress. Please try later. Exiting Function."
In that case, set the resource live status of the device for example " ent1.srxA-1.sv" and the reservation id: a228b2ef-aaa6-4cfb-bba0-a32065394227 to offline. Once you set these offline, you can try running the Setup individual device command again. If you already see the reservation resource with online status with Green ball, then you don't need to set reservation resource to offline. In that case only setting hardware device resource to offline should allow you run the Setup Individual device command again.
