All Browsers on Windows
- Navigate to Control Panel and view your list of installed programs.
- ActiveX plug-in for Internet Explorer
- NPAPI plug-in for Firefox
- PPAPI plug-in for Opera and Chromium
- Uninstall all the plug-ins beginning with “Adobe Flash Player.”
All Browsers on Mac OS X
- Visit Adobe’s website and download the Flash plug-in uninstaller.
Adobe provides two different Flash plug-ins for Mac OS X.
- NPAPI plug-in for Safari and Firefox
- PPAPI plug-in for Opera and Chromium.
- Run the uninstaller to remove Flash from your Mac.
Firefox
- Open Firefox
- Open the browser menu and click Add-ons
- Select the Plugins tab
- Select Shockwave Flash and click Disable
- If you have started a course, restart the browser and start the course again.
Chrome on Windows, Mac OS X, Chrome OS, and Linux
1. Open Chrome and select the menu in the right side of the browser.
2. Navigate to “chrome://settings/” and select site settings
3. Select Privacy and Security section
4. Scroll until you find the “Flash”section
- Click toggle button to disable the Flash
6. If you have started a course, restart the browser and start the course again.
Safari in Mac OS X 10.11, Mac OS 10.12, and later
1. Open Safari and choose Safari > Preferences.
2. Click the Websites tab and scroll down to the Plug-ins section. Locate the Adobe Flash Player entry
3. Uncheck the box to disable Flash Player.
4. If you have started a course, restart the browser and start the course again.
Safari on Mac OS X 10.10
1. Open Safari and choose Safari > Preferences.
2. Click the Security tab. Ensure that Enable JavaScript and Allow Plug-ins are selected. Click Plug-in Settings.
3. From the When visiting other websites menu, choose On, and then click Done.
4. Uncheck the box to disable Flash Player and then click Done.
5. If you have started a course, restart the browser and start the course again.
Microsoft Edge on Windows
1. Open Microsoft Edge
2. Click the More button in the top-right corner of the window.
3. Click Settings
4. Select Cookies and site permissions
5. Select Adobe Flash
7. Set the toggle on for the Ask before running Flash option.
The Block and Allow lists will be available after you visit a site that uses Flash. The next time you visit a site the uses Flash, the browser will ask for your permission before allowing Flash to run.
7. If you have started a course, restart the browser and start the course again.
Microsoft IE on Windows
1. Click the Gear menu and select “Manage add-on”
2. Click the Show box and select “All add-ons
3. Locate “Shockwave Flash Object” under Microsoft Windows Third Party Application Component and select it.
4. Click the Disable button.
This can also be disabled as a group policy.
5. If you have started a course, restart the browser and start the course again.
